Checking In and Out
One nice aspect about staying at a Bed and Breakfast is that they typically have a nice "homely" feel. Unlike hotels, Bed and Breakfasts don't always have an office or official reception area because they are sometimes the innkeepers' home. To be respectful of the property, it is a good idea to heed the check in an check out times closely.
Deciding to Stay at a B&B?
If you aren't sure, ask! If you are deciding whether you should stay at a Bed and Breakfast or a hotel, try calling or emailing an innkeeper in the area and telling them about your travel needs. If you are a business traveler, ask if the inn provides strong cell signal and free wi-fi. If you have children, ask if the innkeeper will provide a kid-friendly breakfast. Even if the inn is not a good fit, the innkeeper may be more than happy to provide you with other recommendations around the area.
Did you know that Bed and Breakfasts could be a great placed to visit with kids? Some inns welcome children with toys and children books. Some even have fun dress up corners! Bed and Breakfasts can provide children with that homey-feel that most hotels lack.
