Never stayed at a B&B? Cypress House Ranch is the place to start! We look like an old farmhouse, but we were built in 1990 as a B&B, with your privacy in mind.
We have been welcoming new and returning guests since 1992. Your hostess, Jan, is a retired teacher and third generation innkeeper. Her grandmother owned the Roby House Hotel in Owensboro, Kentucky from 1885 until 1915, when she went to Cincinnati & owned a similar business until the late 30s, which Jan's parents took part in.Cypress House is a large, rambling log house in the gracious old Florida style set in the midst of wooded farm land. Enjoy oak rockers on a wide wrap-around veranda looking out on moss hung oak trees. Here, you will find relaxed country calm and cordial hospitality just minutes west of I-75, Exit 309, an hour north of Tampa airport. We are also just one mile from the Florida National Cemetery, which is currently the active military cemetery for the state, averaging 35 interments per day. We have had family gatherings using our dining room following the ceremony at the cemetery when some part of the family has stayed with us.
Feeling stressed, crowded? Need a quiet place to relax and renew yourself? We're exactly what you want! Our guests tell us as they leave and by writing in our guest journals how perfectly we fulfill their hopes for the perfect retreat.

We are pleased to offer horseback trail rides for two or more hours starting at $55 for state forest trails. Our 20 horses enable us to offer levels 1, 2 & 3 experienced trail horses, suitable for inexperienced and experienced riders including school-aged children. Each ride is tailored to the interests and abilities of our guests. Most of our rides are private. We do not take out more than 4-5 guests in one group, and we do not mix riding levels.
Guest accommodations include three bedrooms in the main house and two bedrooms in the Pasture Wing above our open air stalls. All rooms are decorated in simple country style -- Berber carpeting, handmade quilts, and antique, handmade or Thomasville cherry furniture. All bathrooms have large fully tiled, glass door showers. Our rooms are comfortable with AC and fans.
Rates include full breakfast served buffet style. Wireless internet available throughout the facility.ADVANCE RESERVATIONS NEEDED. We can develop packages~(room, breakfasts, rides, tax & tip). WE GIVE RIDING LESSONS -- PRIVATE OR GROUP
For B&B guests or, "non" guestsOFFERING HORSE DRAWN WAGON RIDES THAT CAN CARRY UP TO 8 GUESTS PLUS THE DRIVER
Cypress House B&B specializes in guided rides for you and your family or small group of friends. We have between 15 and 20 horses for us to select from to meet the riding levels and needs of our guests.
When you make your reservation, we ask questions about your riding experience and the weight-height of the adult riders as well as the age and weight of any children. Our maximum weight is 220 lbs for 5' - 5'5" and 250 lbs for 5'6" - 6'. If the rider is 6'1" or taller, we'll talk about the weight. Our concern is the rider's safety.
Most of our horses have been working for us about 5-6 years, and some longer. Our trail guides ride our new horses before we use them for guest riders. Because of this, you can be confident we will be able to give you a horse that is best suited to your riding level, and your interests. We have horses for 5 year olds to 60 year olds who have never ridden. We also have horses for long time riders, horse owners, and occasional riders. We put the selected horses into our trailers for the 10 minute trip to the forest, and you follow in your vehicle.
The guided, private 2 hour (or+) ride is on top of the horse, in the forest. We have the most interesting forest trails in the state. We go through natural live oaks mixed with pine, magnolias and northern oaks, some swampy cypress groves areas where deer browse, armadillos wander and wild pigs root in soft areas. Nearly every ride sees some wildlife more interesting than blue jays.
SPECIAL RATES FOR FREQUENT RIDERS, WITH OR WITHOUT B&B STAY FOR 2+ RIDERS. RIDE YOUR FAVORITE HORSE EACH TIME FOR MONTHLY OR MORE OFTEN RIDES.
