  • Introduction

"One of the top 10 most romantic Inns" - American Historic Inns

To discover a feeling of a true Inn of the South of France, come to L'Auberge Provençale in White Post, Virginia. Just one hour from the D.C. beltway and two hours from Baltimore, this charming Northern Virginia bed and breakfast is located in the heart of Virginia hunt country.

L'Auberge Provençale beckons you to explore the growth of spring, the deep shade of summer, the brilliance of fall and the solitude of winter at this beautiful Shenandoah bed and breakfast. If you can't spend a "year in Provence" getaway to this special bed and breakfast in Northern Virginia to renew your spirit with superb cuisine and attentive service that is the center of any true French L'Auberge.

Fourth-generation innkeepers, Alain Borel, from Avignon, France, and his wife Celeste will transport you to a true Auberge of Provence to enjoy romantic accommodations and nationally-acclaimed French cuisine at this incredible Virginia Wine Country bed and breakfast. Les patrons Alain et Celeste Borel, vous souhaite la bien venue.

During your stay at this lovely Northern Virginia B&B, travel the back roads of beautiful Clark County, nestled in the Shenandoah Valley framed by the rolling Blue Ridge Mountains. While enjoying this wonderful White Post, VA bed and breakfast, try your hand at antiquing, horseback riding, hiking, biking, golfing, canoeing, or ballooning, or simply wile away the day on the spacious porch with a glass of wine, enjoying the simpler pleasures, a respite from the otherwise hectic world

Dine evenings at one of the most outstanding French restaurants in Northern Virginia! The main manor house of this superb Virginia restaurant, Mt. Airy (circa 1753), consists of three intimate dining rooms, decorated with antiques, fine art, Provençale fabrics, and artifacts from Spain and France. Dinner at this delectable restaurant in Northern Virginia is a prerequisite during your weekend or holiday overnight stay at this fantastic Shenandoah B&B!

Using herbs and vegetables from the inn's own garden and the freshest ingredients, many from local farmers, Chef Scott Myers creates elegant cuisine with definite seasonings as in Provence, each a picture to please the eye as well as the palate.

Complement your dining experience at this wonderful Northern Virginia French restaurant with excellent wines from the extensive wine cellar featuring French American Chateau wines. Known as one the most romantic restaurants in VA, L'Auberge Provençale offers the perfect Virginia fine dining experience!

Return to one of the guest rooms or suites at this exquisite bed and breakfast in Shenandoah, and enjoy tastefully and individually decorated accommodation with European Victorian antiques, some with fireplaces and fabulous views of the Virginia countryside, all with private baths.

In the morning a full gourmet breakfast is included, featuring fresh homemade croissants, breakfast breads, cafe au lait and fresh juice. First course may include orange blossom waffles with berries and creme fraiche or apple crepes with maple syrup. This is followed by creative entrees, perhaps with eggs or sauted tomato with herbs, wilted spinach, wild mushrooms, cottage fries, lobster cakes and quail "a breakfast of one's dreams" Washington Post. It's no wonder that L'Auberge Provençale is well known as one of the top restaurants in Virginia!

This delightful Shenandoah Valley bed and breakfast is a perfect setting for dress rehearsal dinners, weddings, and business dinners. Special package rates are available for small-business conferences mid-week. Please give us a call and we will help you arrange the details for your special occasion.

The Villa is located just 4 miles from the main inn of L'Auberge Provençale. It is situated on 18 lovely landscaped acres with old growth trees and gardens. The building surrounds a large brick patio with a swimming pool. Dinner is available evenings at this lovely Shenandoah Valley B&B and private functions are catered on site. Breakfast is served at the Villa.

As a designated "Green" Inn by the Virginia Department of Environmental Quality, we are striving to support sustainable farming in the area using fresh organic meats, cheese, eggs, and produce.

These menus feature many farms from our own backyard. We are constantly foraging for fresh wild products to utilize on our menu, as well as, tending to our own vegetables, herbs, and fruit orchard.
