Floyd is located in Floyd County, at the crest of the Blue Ridge Mountains. The Big Lick Blues Festival is held in nearby Roanoke and is rated as one of the best annual festivals in the area with entertainment, food and music. The Chautauqua Festival in Wytheville is a fun event for the whole family. It is held in June each year and features food and entertainment. Monongahela National Forest is located close by and is a great place to spend a day (or several days) exploring the outdoors. One inexpensive way to stay in the area is to camp in the Monongahela forest, however, if camping is not your thing, you should consider staying in a Floyd bed and breakfast or Floyd inn. The Virginia Museum in Roanoke is a fun and educational experience. You can learn about the history of Virginia during your visit. It's great for lunch, or even a quick dinner.
