Corbett Suite
This suite was originally Jane Hull's playroom where she and her little friends engaged in fanciful and creative amusements while close friends and family relaxed in the adjoining sitting room. Today, this first floor suite includes a bed chamber with an American white iron queen-sized bed, original built-in cabinets with comfortable window seat. The adjoining sitting room includes original arts and crafts style moldings and trims, and features a Louis XVI Revival sofa and armchair, and heirloom rug. Private bath with shower.
The suite takes its name from Bertha Corbett, affectionately called "The Mother of the Sunbonnet Babies." At the turn-of-the-century, Sunbonnet Babies were very popular, and were featured in children's reading primers, on china, postcards, and other items of the days. During the restoration project a workman discovered part of an original Sunbonnet mural behind a tall cabinet in the playroom. By carefully scratching paint off the wall they found the original outline, traced it, and after eight weeks of painting were able to meticulously recreate the mural.

The first floor of the carriage house was originally a barn used as stables for ponies the Hull family kept as well as areas for storing their carriages and glamorous new automobile. Hay and oats were stored on the second floor and were delivered through chutes to the ponies below. There were also modest living quarters provided for the stableman. Years later the second floor was divided into two apartments. As part of the renovation process, the apartments have been meticulously restored to reflect the warmth and character of an earlier time.
