Centrally located along the shoreline of Lake Michigan, the communities of Grand Haven, Fruitport, Spring Lake, Muskegon, and Whitehall are only a 3 to 3 1/2 hour drive from Chicago, Detroit or the Indiana border.
Some properties are located directly on the lake, some have water views, and none are more than a 10 minute drive from the fabulous shores of Lake Michigan.
For your comfort, all WestShore Bed & Breakfast Association members are inspected
and approved by either the Michgan Lake to Lake B&B association, Mobil or AAA rated.
Our region will enchant you with cultural opportunities, festivals, and every kind of outdoor activity imaginable. The innkeepers of the WestShore Bed & Breakfast Association will gladly advise you where to go and what to do to experience Michigan at its best. Spring and Summer Area Activities and Events With the return of warm temperatures,
the Lake Michigan shoreline comes into its element.
There are so many wonderful events and outdoor activities that you have to visit many times to take in all of them. Walking the beach is the quintessential activity for the shoreline, but don't stop there. Boating of all kinds, swimming, fishing, biking, golf, water-theme park, festivals, lighthouse and submarine tours, outdoor concerts, summer stock theater, horseback riding, air show and art fairs will keep you properly entertained. Muskegon, Grand Haven, and the White Lake area all have special regional festivals and activities.
Check the events calendar and make reservations early. The shoreline area is a very popular destination
and the WestShore Bed & Breakfast Association properties want to be able to fulfill your reservation requests.

Fall and Winter Area Activities and Events Magically the leaves turn to red and gold waiting to be viewed from numerous bike paths and scenic drives. Your last chance for the final rounds of golf, hooking a salmon in the river, and enjoying the various fall festivals. The WestShore Bed & Breakfast Association innkeepers have many suggestions for experiencing the autumn season. Winter brings a special magic to the region with powdery snow and cold temperatures. Muskegon's Winter Sports Complex offers groomed x-country trails, ice skating and, don't forget to check out the luge run for an Olympic-style adventure. Pigeon Creek in Grand Haven and Owassipe Scout Reservation outside Whitehall also offer x-country trails, dogsled races and other outdoor winter activities. Winter festivals, snowmobiling, ice fishing and ice boating on the area lakes round out the outdoor activities.
Indoors, there are the Muskegon Fury hockey games. After a brisk day outside, warm up at a WestShore B&B Association bed and breakfast. Innkeepers will be happy to fill a mug with hot chocolate and pass around a plate of cookies.
