If you are looking for sandy beaches, lakes, mountains, fantastic foods, and fun things to do on your next vacation, look no further than Linconlville, Maine. Here, ample activities and the beautiful scenery off Maine’s coast await you. The history of Lincolnville goes back to 1774, near the end of the Revolutionary War, when settlers from southern New England traveled to Maine searching for free land. In Lincolnville, the settlers divided the land into two plantations, Canaan and Ducktrap. Today, you can enjoy kayaking from the Ducktrap Kayak company. You can spend your days at the beach, swimming in the Penobscot Bay, sailing in former cargo schooners with the Maine Windjammer Cruises, or dining on lobster stew from The Lobster Pound. A cannon stationed in Lincolnville during the War of 1812 now resides at Lincolnville Beach for public display. Hike at Camden Hills State Park or Point Lookout to take in Maine’s stunning natural terrain in one of the most picturesque places in New England. Antiques, art collectibles, handmade jewelry, unique rugs, and custom embroidery can be found at many flea markets, shops, and studios. Lincolnville’s exciting yearly events include the Lincolnville Crafters Show, the Strawberry Festival, and LIA Blueberry Wing-Ding. Less
