More About Montana

Welcome to Big Sky Country and home of Yellowstone National Park, Little Big Horn Battlefield and Glacier National Park. These attractions alone lure in millions of tourists every year. This scenic state does not have any major league sporting teams, but it is home to a plethora of amateur and outdoor sports and activities. Fly fishing, made famous by the movie A River Runs Through It, and brings many tourists to its lakes in search of Kokanee Salmon, Lake Trout and Catfish. Big game hunting for prizes such as mountain goats and bighorn sheep are only available to a random few as limited permits are available. Skiing, both cross-country and downhill, as well as snowmobiling and skijoring are also big winter tourism draws. Although Montana is an outdoorsmen paradise, there is also quite a shopping scene in the more urban areas. The state is very proud of its Made in Montana offerings. Items range from fine jewelry to toys and pet products. There are also many cultural events all over the state, to include Shakespeare in the Park, Indian Arts Showcase, Art Walks and more.
