More About Connecticut

As the southernmost state in the area known as New England you will find Connecticut. Many nicknames grace this state such as the Nutmeg State, The Land of Steady Habits, and the Constitution State. Known as one of the largest domiciles of private colleges such as Yale University and Wesleyan University, the state is also home to many superb public schools as well making it a hub of grand education. Mark Twain penned The Adventures of Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn while residing in Hartford for over 20 years. Other Connecticut notables are Noah Webster, George W. Bush, Dylan McDermott and Meg Ryan. Bear Mountain, with its picturesque hiking and B&B’s makes for a great road trip, while to the south the shores of Long Island Sound are scattered with water activities, mansions, great dining and shopping. So if you are a native “Nutmegger” or visiting as part of your New England tour, Connecticut has a little bit of something for everyone.
