Home of three beloved covered bridges, The Easley, The Swann, and the Horton Mill, Oneonta Alabama the Covered Bridge Capitol of Alabama. Held every fall, the Covered Bridge Festival has much to do and see! A 5K run, a pancake breakfast, quilt show, and arts and crafts to name a few. There are other festivals held throughout the year here, such as the annual Chili Cook Off, Treats on the Streets, and Dawg Daze. Other activities in the area are golfing at Heritage Springs or Limestone Springs courses, many water sports and activities, and the Historic L & N Railroad Depot. You are in the South, so having some BBQ is a must here, Ken’s BBQ has a delectable menu, and a good family atmosphere, and the Huddle House is a must for a generous home style breakfast. So go for the festivals or the areas lovely terrain, but make a stop in the South in Oneonta. Less
