Orange French Toast with Toasted Almonds

Ingredients

  • 1 pound French bread or Italian bread (12 slices)
  • 6 eggs beaten
  • 1-1/2 cups half & half
  • 2 Tablespoons sugar
  • 2 Tablespoons Grand Marnier (can substitute 2 tsp. orange extract for Grand Marnier)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 cup sliced almonds

Directions

Servings:  6

 

Wisk all ingredients together, except almonds.

Using French or Italian bread, soak bread in egg mixture.

Cook on pre-heated griddle until light brown.

Dust with powdered sugar & toasted almonds.

Garnish with orange slices & serve with warm pure maple syrup.

 

To toast almonds, place on a shallow pan & bake 5-10 minutes at 350°F.
