Orange French Toast with Toasted AlmondsFrom SPENCER HOUSE INN BED & BREAKFAST
Cooking Time:5 - 10 minutes
- 1 pound French bread or Italian bread (12 slices)
- 6 eggs beaten
- 1-1/2 cups half & half
- 2 Tablespoons sugar
- 2 Tablespoons Grand Marnier (can substitute 2 tsp. orange extract for Grand Marnier)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- ½ teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 cup sliced almonds
Wisk all ingredients together, except almonds.
Using French or Italian bread, soak bread in egg mixture.
Cook on pre-heated griddle until light brown.
Dust with powdered sugar & toasted almonds.
Garnish with orange slices & serve with warm pure maple syrup.
To toast almonds, place on a shallow pan & bake 5-10 minutes at 350°F.
