  • Introduction

Domaine Madeleine Bed & Breakfast, front exterior

The only complaint our guests have is that they didn't stay longer, Domaine Madeleine is listed in Sunset Magazine as one of the 20 best seaside getaways on the Pacific Coast and was voted the "Best Romantic Bed and Breakfast in the Pacific Northwest" by the viewers of the TV Program Northwest Backroads.

Feel your tensions melt away as you drive down Wildflower Lane; the natural beauty of the trees, the wildflowers and deer are all there to welcome you as you enter Domaine Madeleine. Hidden beyond the gate are the panoramic water views, towering conifers and 10 acres of exquisite gardens. Looking back you can see the majestic mountain range of the Olympic Mountains.

  • Insider's Info

Travelers are always looking for memorable and relaxing experiences. Let’s discover more through the words of our innkeepers. Many thanks to Stephen for sharing his own secrets with!
Why do most travelers stay at your inn?

Travelers stay with us because of our luxury waterfront mountain and ocean views, comfortable "every need is anticipated" personal service, close proximity to Olympic National Park, and our commitment to sustainability including our fantastic farm to table 5 star breakfast.

What are you best known for? What makes your inn unique? What do you love most about your inn?

We are known for being your "private luxury vacation home" with updated rooms and 5 acres of private gardens; our organic farm and aquaponics greenhouse; our simply stunning views of the Olympic mountains, Vancouver and San Juan islands, and Mount Baker; and our amazing 5 star multi-course breakfast.

If someone has never been to your city, what is the #1 reason to come visit?

Washington's scenic Olympic Peninsula is nature's wonderland: the UNESCO world heritage site of Olympic National Park is the only place in the continental United States where you can visit snowcapped mountains, glacial lakes, the largest temperate rain forest and the Pacific ocean all in the same day. In addition, Port Angeles is a charmingly authentic Northwest town with amazing Washington wineries, a vibrant local arts scene, and a bounty of the richest farmland in North America.

What’s the best compliment you have ever received about the inn?

Our comfortable personal service made the difference between a good vacation and a truly unforgettable life experience.

What’s the best kept secret about the area?

Our temperate weather: with only 17 inches of rain per year (similar to Los Angeles, CA!), we're the perfect year-round destination.

If a traveler is staying at your inn for 4 nights, what should he/she do in the area?

Explore the 360 degree views at Hurricane Ridge (like visiting the Swiss Alps!), take an inspirational stroll through the Hall of Mosses in Hoh Rainforest, marvel at sunset at Lake Crescent after a short hike to Marymere Falls (one of 34 easily accessible waterfalls), stand at the edge of the Northwestern-most point of the continental United States at Cape Flattery where you can see whales playing off the coast, and trek out on the longest natural sand spit in the Western hemisphere at the 100 year old Dungeness National Wildlife Refuge to enjoy a free tour of the New Dungeness Lighthouse, and escape to one of the hundreds of private beaches along the rugged Pacific Coast. And that doesn't include the wineries, art galleries, hot air balloon and biplane rides, organic farm tours, lavender farms, wildlife viewing, bike riding along the waterfront Olympic Discovery Trail, taking a day trip to Victoria BC, and so much more.

Is there anything within walking distance of your inn?

Several amazing family farms, the Olympic Discovery Trail, and Olympic Cellars winery are all within a thirty minute walk.

What is your favorite restaurant/food in the area?

We are cursed with too many amazing restaurants that feature the bounty of local organic farms. Our guests' favorites are: Sabai Thai, Kokopelli Grill, Bella Italia, Michael's Steak and Seafood, Cafe Garden, Alder Wood Bistro, Blondie's Plate, Dockside Grill, and Nourish.

Any good area guides/websites that travelers could reference?

We provide an entire library of local hiking, wildlife viewing, arts, winery/cidery, and farm guides. is a great place to start.

How many rooms does your inn have?

We have 4 luxury suites with private entries and baths, plus one cottage that also has a kitchenette.

    Do you accept pets?

We do not accept pets, but there is an exceptional pet resort in nearby Sequim or a fantastic vet (Angeles Clinic for Animals) that provides first class, low cost animal boarding.
