Floyd is located in Floyd County, at the crest of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Staying at a local Floyd B&B will give you a chance to take in the rustic culture of the area, while enjoying the local hospitality. The Big Lick Blues Festival is held in nearby Roanoke and is rated as one of the best annual festivals in the area with entertainment, food and music. The Chautauqua Festival in Wytheville is a fun event for the whole family. It is held in June each year and features food and entertainment. Monongahela National Forest is located close by and is a great place to spend a day (or several days) exploring the outdoors. One inexpensive way to stay in the area is to camp in the Monongahela forest, however, if camping is not your thing, you should consider staying in a Floyd bed and breakfast or Floyd inn. The Virginia Museum in Roanoke is a fun and educational experience. You can learn about the history of Virginia during your visit. Pine Tavern Restaurant in Floyd is a favorite restaurant in the area. Past customers have one word to describe it: delicious! Over the Moon Cafe is a quaint place to stop while in Floyd.
