Our website is informative and appealing and our location is convenient to surrounding cities. It's a wonderful romantic getaway.
What are you best known for? What makes your inn unique? What do you love most about your inn?
We are best known for the quiet and beautiful surroundings. Guests come back because they enjoy the great country breakfast and home cooked dinners.
If someone has never been to your city, what is the #1 reason to come visit?
We are unique because of the homey atmosphere, antique decor and privacy. We love meeting interesting travelers from all over the country and world. We are near the Big Thicket National Preserve and are known for our Texas country hospitality.
What’s the best compliment you have ever received about the inn?
Our guests love the privacy, food and location in Southeast Texas. They love being able to pick the fruit, in season, that is grown on the farm.
What’s the best kept secret about the area?
Many visitors are not familiar with the Big Thicket before they come to the area. They can take a mystical trip to the Ghost Lights on scenic Bragg Road.
If a traveler is staying at your inn for 4 nights, what should he/she do in the area?
Hiking, canoeing, antiquing, biking, birding and many nearby museums. Many enjoy the quiet, just relaxing and getting away from the crowded cities.
Is there anything within walking distance of your inn?
Nothing within walking distance - we are 2 miles off the highway.
What is your favorite restaurant/food in the area?
We have a good selection of eateries including Mexican, Bar-B-Q, Seafood in the towns surrounding the Farm.

Ethridge Farm offers choices in accommodations 4 cabins, each with its own unique history. All are decorated with antiques and memorabilia and include heat and air conditioning, TV/DVD player, private baths, use of the deck, and breakfast. During your stay, you are welcome to fish at the pond, hike the nature trails, and pick fruit in the orchard - all right here on the grounds.
Historic Blueberry Hill
Private cabin built in the 1900's, with 2 bedrooms it sleeps up to 4 people. Includes living room with TV/DVD player; snack kitchen with table and chairs, refrigerator, microwave, and toaster oven; front porch with swing.
Rustic Deer Run
Private cabin that sleeps up to 4 people with a King-size bed and two twin beds. An enclosed outdoor shower, roomy living area, snack kitchen, front porch with swing.
Romantic Mayhaw Ridge
Offers the peace and quiet of your own secluded cabin with the benefits of a bed and breakfast. After a walk through the Big Thicket, enjoy an outdoor shower under the stars, and a comfortable bedroom with charming decorations of antiques and country décor. In the evening, you can meander through the orchard, or sit by a campfire and explore the country skies. Maybe see a falling star or a full moon.
The Log Cabin Lodge
The historic Log Cabin Lodge is available for indoor and outdoor catered parties, meetings, and dinners. We welcome small and large groups including weddings and receptions, birthday and holiday parties, reunions, or whatever event you have in mind.
Meals and Amenities
When you visit Ethridge Farm, breakfast is included with your room package and served each morning in the Lodge dining room. We also offer optional country dinners in the Lodge and romantic candlelight dinners brought directly to your accommodation. Choose from a delicious variety of home-cooked dishes made fresh from the kitchen of Ann Ethridge.
Wake up to birds singing and a real Texas country breakfast with your choice of:
- Fruit in season
- Eggs, Pancakes, or Waffles
- Bacon, or Sausage with gravy
- Homemade Biscuits with Mayhaw jelly
- Grits, or Hash browns
- Juice, and Coffee
Don't forget to try the Mayhaw jelly - made from the native Mayhaw berry found only in Texas and a few Southern states. This is part of the unique experience of visiting the Big Thicket area!
Breakfast is served between 8:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. in the beautiful Lodge dining room.
With advance notice, a delicious country dinner is available for $26.00 per person. Includes your choice of Brisket, Chicken, Pork, or Fish as the entree. Miss Ann will select the rest of the meal depending on what is in season. A salad, starch, vegetables, bread, and dessert are included. If there is a food you cannot eat or something you really want to order, please let us know. You are welcome to bring wine for dinner.
Is this a special occasion? We will bring a home-cookedcandlelight dinner to your accommodation for $36.00 per person. The candlelight dinner menu includes your choice of Beef, Chicken, Pork, or Fish entrée along with salad, starch, vegetables, bread, and dessert. If there is a food you cannot eat or something you really want to order, please let us know.

During your stay, you might enjoy strolling on our grounds, walking down the lane, or exploring the nearby woods. Bird watching is a favorite activity on The Farm!
The outdoor hot tub on the deck of the Log Cabin Lodge - an additional $20.00 is added to other accommodations - if spa is requested with advance notice. Be sure to experience the fun of fishing or picking your own fruit (when in season). We like to give you a bag of fruit, that you have picked, as a memory of your visit to the Farm. Fruits include: Blueberries, Mayhaws, Pears, Muscadines, Satsumas, Lemons & Kumquats. You are free to enjoy hiking the nature paths and exploring the woods during your stay.
When planning your trip to Ethridge Farm Log Cabin Bed & Breakfast, you'll want to schedule time to visit some of the great attractions found in the Big Thicket area. You'll find everything from historical and natural sites to art, shopping, dining and even an Indian Reservation.
The Big Thicket National Preserve is one of the most popular attractions in the area and is located just down the road from the Farm. The Preserve is home to hundreds of unique species of wildlife and natural wetlands. You can hike, bike, and enjoy other fun and educational activities with the new visitor center.
Canoe along Village Creek, the Neches River, or through the Big Thicket. It is one of the most popular activities for visitors. Several area canoe outfitters offer the options of renting you own canoes for the day or signing up for one of their guided tours.
Ethridge Farm is only a short distance from the towns of Kountze, Lumberton, Beaumont, and Silsbee, Texas, which offer shopping, dining and other activities. Silsbee has a great water park for the kids.
Several festivals and events are held throughout the year such as the antique car show, the 4-wheeler Mud Fest, old fashioned Cane Syrup Making, monthly Trade Days and more.
Beautiful golf courses, gorgeous bicycle trails, horseback riding, bird watching, canoeing, fishing, hunting and hiking are a few of the activities available for the outdoor enthusiast.
