  • Insider's Info

Travelers are always looking for memorable and relaxing experiences. Let’s discover more through the words of our innkeepers. Many thanks to Frank and Carolyn for sharing their own secrets with!
Why do most travelers stay at your inn?

They come for so many reasons; some just to get away and enjoy serenity of the farm, others to visit Hersheypark and Chocolate World, still others for a concert or show, for antiquing, for business, the list just goes on & on.

What are you best known for? What makes your inn unique? What do you love most about your inn?

From reading the comments in our guest books, I would have to say our food and tranquility top the list of the things we are best known for. We love the setting of our inn. It sits in the middle of our horse farm with lovely views our every window yet we’re just 3 miles from Hersheypark .We often say we are “so convenient but a world apart”.

If someone has never been to your city, what is the #1 reason to come visit?

In a word – CHOCOLATE. Actually there are many reasons to come to Hershey. Hershey Park and Chocolate World, of course, but also antiquing, biking, a wide variety of concerts and special events and we are not far from Gettysburg and also the Amish communities in Lancaster county.

What’s the best compliment you have ever received about the inn?

A guest once told us: “I always wanted a beautiful home in the country and now I have it.”

What’s the best kept secret about the area?

Folks don’t realize the wide variety of things that there are to do here. Tell us your special interest and we’re happy to help you tailor an itinerary that’s perfect for you.

If a traveler is staying at your inn for 4 nights, what should he/she do in the area?

Plan to spend at least two days in the Hershey Area then visit Gettysburg and on the fourth day we can map out a route for you to tour the Amish area perhaps including dinner with an Amish family. We truly love helping our guest plan their stay so that they can enjoy all the region has to offer.

Is there anything within walking distance of your inn?

Although we are just 3 miles form Hershey, it is quite rural around us. You can walk around the farm and help feed the animals if you would like. There is also a nice hiking trail very close to the farm and a stocked trout stream.

What is your favorite restaurant/food in the area?

There are so many good restaurants in area, it’s hard to choose but if you like seafood you can’t beat Devon and we have introductory cards that offer our guests a complimentary appetizer. We are near many farms and in season we love the fresh produce. My favorite foods are probably the tomatoes and asparagus from our own garden.

Any good area guides/websites that travelers could reference?

Our visitors bureau has a great web site, and the Hershey web site is good as well

How many rooms does your inn have?

We have 10 rooms -9 have fireplaces and five have Jacuzzis. And one is a private cottage that sleeps six.

    Do you accept pets?

While we love animals (with quite a menagerie in the barn), we cannot allow pets in the inn. However, we are happy to suggest a local boarding facility for guests who wish to travel with pets. Service dogs are always permitted. Some dogs have stayed happily in an empty stall in our barn but a lot depends on the personality of the dog.
