Any city with a nickname like Christmas City gets two thumbs up in our book! How fun is that? Bethlehem Pennsylvania is such a place. With several hotels and a treasured B & B, there are many choices of accommodations for you to spend your holiday here. There are also many great places to dine during your visit. 294 restaurants to be exact! The #1 rated restaurant is the Blue Sky Café, open for breakfast and lunch only. This is a locally owned and operated café and is favored by locals and tourists alike. Families and groups of folks are welcome here and many events are held at SteelStacks, the former steel plant. Hence Bethlehem’s other nickname, The Steel City. But there is more to this city than Christmas. They have many festivals and events thru the year. Musikfest is a ten-day event that brings over a million travelers to Bethlehem every August. Other festivals include the Celtic Classic, celebrating all things Celtic, and The NEARFest whish is a 3-day rock music event and stands for North East Art Rock Festival. There is also the South Side Film Festival which is a not for profit and non-competitive event. If it is outdoor family fun for picnics and such, Bethlehem has 39 parks, which covers 568 acres. In addition to their famous events, there are also quite a few notables from Christmas City. Some worth mentioning are Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Jonathan Taylor Thomas, Jeff, John and Michael Andretti, and Charles M. Schwab to name a few. Next time you are in Pennsylvania, spend some time in Bethlehem. You won’t regret it. Less
