    Morehead Manor Bed & Breakfast offers year-round comfortable ambiance for vacation getaways, romantic weekends and business travel. Located in the historic Morehead Hill neighborhood, Morehead Manor is just moments away from Duke and North Carolina Central Universities. Each of our four spacious guestrooms provides a relaxed setting with the amenities of a fine hotel. Enjoy a scrumptious full breakfast and decadent homemade desserts. Our common areas, Preston's Parlor and Jacob's Library, encourage you to relax, read, or just take some time for yourself and enjoy a beverage of your choice. The hammock and bench swings in the garden also beckon your presence.

    Walk to shopping and dining at Historic Brightleaf Square, the American Tobacco Campus and the newly renovated downtown Durham area. Enjoy a Durham Bull's baseball game at the DBAP, take in a show at the new Durham Performing Arts Center or visit many of the art galleries downtown.

    Learn about Durham's history as you visit the Duke Homestead, Stagville Plantation, the Hayti Heritage Center or Bennett Place the site of the largest troop surrender of the Civil War.     Why do most travelers stay at your inn?

    Some of our guests are getting away for relaxation, some are scouting the area for retirement, some are visiting Duke University, seeing performances at the Durham Performing Arts Center (DPAC), on business or just visiting family and friends in the area.  

    What are you best known for?

    We are best known for our hospitality, signature breakfasts, and desserts.

    What makes your inn unique?

    Besides us being great hosts, the spaciousness of our guestrooms and common areas is what makes our inn unique.

    What do you love most about your inn?

    It’s centrally located and easily accessible.  We make it easy for our guests to relax and unwind here.

    If someone has never been to your city, what is the #1 reason to come visit?

    Durham was voted the Tastiest Town of the South by Southern Living Magazine 2013. We also rank highly in the best Cities to Live, Work & Play. There is always a great live performance in town.

    What’s the best compliment you have ever received about the inn?

    Staying with us is like visiting old friends or coming back to the Inn at the end of a busy day was like coming home.

    What’s the best kept secret about the area?

    The diversity of food and culture in the area.  Durham has great music too!

    If a traveler is staying at your inn for 4 nights, what should he/she do in the area?

    Visit area museums & historical sites, shop till you drop at uniquely Durham stores, eat great local food at area farm to the table restaurants, visit the Sarah P. Duke gardens, visit the areas breweries, distilleries and wineries.

    Is there anything within walking distance of your inn?

    Most of the restaurants and shops in and near downtown are within walking distance to the inn.  We are just a few steps away from Historic Brightleaf Square, the American Tobacco Campus, The Durham Bulls Athletic Park, Duke University, Durham Performing Arts Center (DPAC), The Carolina Theater and all of the sights and sounds of downtown Durham.

    What is your favorite restaurant/food in the area?

    Durham is a "Foodie" town with plenty of restaurants and food trucks so it depends upon my mood.

    We have 5 guestrooms.

    Do you accept pets?

    We currently do not accept pets but can refer guests to local pet motels.

    Weddings can be performed outdoors in our garden, in the inn, or the Carriage house. Our beautifully landscaped garden provide the perfect setting for your special day. We can accommodate a maximum of 50 guests. We provide professional options for catering and other wedding services, using only the best vendors to ensure the perfect result.

    It is our goal at Morehead Manor to create an intimate, relaxing, and memorable event without the typical stresses that are associated with planning a wedding.

    Special Events

    Morehead Manor can also host your special events, including Baby Showers, Bridge Luncheons, or Book Club Gatherings. Let us help you create an event that will impress you and your guests.

    Corporate Events

    The Manor offers a unique environment for your corporate meeting or retreat. We can accommodate between 5 and 25 attendees for a conference event. Ask about our Corporate Scavenger Hunt event; it’s a great team-building exercise.
