Dreamdale Room

The romantic Dreamdale Room features a king bed dressed in luxurious white and powder teal linens, a functioning fireplace with gas burning logs, a generous sitting area, and a private bath. The view from the double-window includes the old general store, one of several historic outbuildings on the property, and Bald Mountain Creek; which can be heard when the windows are raised to enjoy the cool mountain air. Dreamdale was the name given to the home-site by its original owners, David and Pearl Buck. Dreamdale Suite

The Dreamdale Suite combines the Dreamdale Room with a lovely adjoining second bedroom to create spacious accommodations for up to 4 guests. The two twin, white wrought-iron beds and angled ceilings of the second bedroom evoke a cottage feel featuring a soft apple green, red and white decor. The sofa and chair in the sitting area offers the ideal reading spot overlooking the paddock of the adjacent Wolf Laurel Stables where horses are often seen grazing. Hemlock Room

The beautiful Hemlock Room features a king bed dressed in luxurious sage green and khaki linens, and a reading nook tucked between two windows with a comfortable chair and throw. The Hemlock Room is named for the 100-year-old stands of hemlock trees on either side of the Inn and along the banks of Bald Mountain Creek, some of which can be seen from the room. The room also overlooks the front lawn with trout pond, and offers a partial view of the small natural spring with remains of a stone bridge, which was a site for weddings in the early 1900s. The Creekside Room offers the best view of its namesake, Bald Mountain Creek. Cozy and romantic, it features a queen bed dressed in luxurious cream, white, and powder blue linens, and a chair for reading while curled up next to the gas fireplace. The creek can be heard when the windows are raised to allow in the cool mountain breeze. Chestnut Room

The Chestnut Room conveys a warm, rich atmosphere, as the walls, floor, and ceiling are the lovely original unpainted chestnut boards milled from the Buck property in 1904, the only bedroom with this feature. There is a queen-size cherry sleigh bed dressed in luxurious linens of cream, gold, and a touch of deep red. A lightweight matelasse coverlet is accompanied by a fluffy down comforter for those chilly summer nights when the temperature can dip into the low 50s. The views include the front lawn with pond, and a stand of hemlock trees. Queen Bed; Sleeps 2

    The Buck House Inn on Bald Mountain CreekCancellation

    We are a small inn and cancellations affect us greatly. Deposits are non-refundable for cancellations made within 72 hours of reservation. Same day cancellation or a non-arrival will be charged the full stay to the credit card used in the reservation. Cancellations made more than 72 hours before the reservation will be charged a $10.00 processing fee.

    Special Dietary Needs

    Every reasonable effort will be made to meet special dietary needs. Special requests must be made at least one week prior to arrival.


    Well-behaved children ages 12 and older are welcome in the Inn. If your party reserves all rooms, children of all ages are welcomed.


    We are not able to accommodate pets at this time. You may see Angel, our Golden Retriever, on the property; however, they are not allowed in the common areas inside the Inn.


    Smoking is allowed in a designated outdoor area only.


    At this time, there is cell phone reception for Verizon customers only, at the Inn. There is a telephone available for guests to make local and long distance calls at no charge. Please give the number to anyone that may need to reach you in case of emergency.
