Enjoy a Fall Getaway to the New Hope Lambertville Area 4 Sep 2021, 5:40 pm
Fall is just around the corner, and it’s the perfect time to visit the Delaware River Towns including New Hope, Lamberville, Frenchtown and many others. The Woolverton Inn, conveniently located in the New Hope Lambertville area, offers a quiet place to enjoy the colors of autumn and relax while just a few minutes drive (or bike ride) to shopping, dining, hiking, and other activities.
Hunterdon County, NJ and Bucks County, PA are centers of “agri-tourism” with beautiful landscapes, rolling hills and farmland for miles. You can find pumpkins, apples, produce stands, cheese, even alpaca and buffalo. Visit the Hunterdon 579 Farmer’s Market page for wonderful ideas.
Peddler’s Village in Lahaska PA is the best place to ignite your seasonal spirit and each fall they organize an amazing display of scarecrows. Start your holiday shopping early, grab a hearty lunch, and enjoy the lovely views at this picturesque outdoor shopping place. There’s something for everyone here!
Lambertville and Frenchtown are also known for elaborate Halloween displays sure to give you the shivers! If you love a good time on Halloween, this is the place for you!
New Hope Lambertville Area Outdoor Adventures
The days are a little shorter but also a little cooler, so it’s time to grab your walking shoes or bicycles, and enjoy the outdoors. From Woolverton Inn, its just a quick walk down to our famous Towpath (Delaware Canal State Park), which runs 25 miles along the Delaware River. There are also many stunning parks within a 20-30 minute drive, including Sourland Mountains, Washington Crossing State Park, Ringing Rocks, Ralph Stover State Park, Peace Valley Park and the Lavender Farm. For a lovely nature experience with curated trails, visit the Bowman’s Wildflower Preserve in New Hope, PA. If you’d rather take a leisurely drive with stops along the way, follow the Covered Bridge Ride and see the 12 remaining covered bridges in Bucks County PA.
The farmland of Hunterdon and Bucks Counties provides fertile soil for our local vineyards, breweries and distilleries. These venues offer stunning landscapes and an ongoing schedule of lively events. Many are deeply connected to the agricultural history.
Alba Vineyards, just north of Frenchtown, dates back to the late 1700’s, and was originally a dairy farm. Their vineyards are the first cultivation of the land, ensuring a rich supply of nutrients for their grape vines.
Unionville Vineyards, close by in Ringoes, NJ, was originally part of the largest peach orchard in the United States. George Washington led his troops over much of this area. They camped on the grounds nearby that now nourish some of their finest vines. Speaking of the first president, Crossing Vineyard is just minutes from the famous Revolutionary War crossing at the Delaware on Christmas day. Learn more about area wineries and breweries at the Hunterdonn 549 Trail website.
Finding things to do this fall around Woolverton Inn is easy, but we know that scheduling your time away can be challenging. Our rooms are selling quickly! We’d love to help you work on your getaway! Woolverton Inn – The Perfect Place for your Winter Elopement 30 Dec 2020, 2:37 pm
Despite frigid temperatures, many couples choose a winter elopement to capture their special day. Adventurous couples who plan winter weddings are greeted with more options and flexibility compared to spring and summer weddings. Winter elopements can be less expensive and easier to plan as vendors such as your photographer, videographer, florist, hair & makeup artists, and officiants have more flexibility. Along with more options, popular spots are less populated and more accessible such as the areas around Woolverton Inn including New Hope PA, Lambertville NJ, Stockton NJ, and Frenchtown NJ.
Winter is also a stunning time of year with mother nature providing a backdrop of the beautiful muted tones of winter. The picturesque landscapes and historic manor house at The Woolverton Inn create a jaw dropping and unique winter wedding atmosphere with snow covered rolling hills and sparkling trees greeting you to a winter wonderland. The surrounding towns are ever changing with the seasons too, with beautiful backdrops perfect for your reception dinner. When the night ends, guests head back to their rooms to snuggle up next to the fire.
Micro weddings and elopements are becoming more and more popular given that much needed peace of mind in today’s post covid-19 world. Those that branch out for a winter elopement will enjoy having more flexibility with dates, along with mid-weeks elopement specials. Already planning a winter wedding? See our must have list below:
How to Prepare for a Winter Elopement?
- Foot, hand and body warmers. These are pretty much going to be your best friend throughout your wedding day. They are thin, warm and last for hours!
- Blankets: Many couples opt for blankets given to each guest for the ceremony. With less people, this means more you get to spoil your guests! We once had a Bride’s mother knit wool pillows for each guest, with our very own sheep wool!
- Thermos with something to keep you warm for your special day. Hot chocolate, tea or espresso will do the trick!
- Zoom your wedding for friends and family who cannot attend https://zoom.us/
Woolverton Inn’s beautiful cottages and suites are perfectly suited for the cozy atmosphere winter elopements create. To learn more about the packages offered visit our website, and begin dreaming of your winter elopement.

Now is the Right Time to Stay at a Bed and Breakfast 16 Dec 2020, 3:27 pm
Wondering when will it be safe to travel again? There is no doubt that the pandemic has caused significant changes in traveler trends however, a socially distanced getaway is still possible. People are choosing to stay at smaller properties in more remote locations, with an emphasis on close to home travel or “staycations.” Recent data published by TripAdvisor showed that campgrounds and small bed and breakfast-style accommodations have seen a faster recovery than major hotels and resorts during the 2020 fall season.
When will it be safe to travel again?
Boutique hotels such as the Woolverton Inn do allow for safe getaways, but what if you never stayed at a bed and breakfast before? Why consider a bed and breakfast or luxury inn now, and what can you expect during your stay?
The answer is simple! The personalized experience you receive at a B&B is nothing like that of a hotel or resort- it is unique and personal. Bed and breakfasts have evolved over the years, mostly having been private residences, whose doors literally “opened up” to visitors and passers-by. At a B&B, owners and innkeepers value quality time and communication with their guests.
A locally sourced, home-cooked breakfast every morning is often a major appeal and a delightful part of your visit. At Woolverton Inn, along with the personalized service and a rotating menu, you have the option of dining in the main house or receiving your Woolverton breakfast delivered directly to your suite or cottage. Our guests enjoy the never-ending supply of homemade cookies, free parking, free breakfast, free Wi-Fi, and other complimentary items (maybe even a tumbler of whiskey on a cold night) that complete the experience.
What makes a B&B stay different?
Every B&B inn has a unique history, character and style, and this makes a boutique inn a destination of its own. A place where you can enjoy exploring the property inside and out and reading or discussing the history.
The Woolverton Inn offers many services and amenities specifically tailored to the needs of individual guests. Our rooms and cottages are just as unique as our guests, some with beautifully painted murals, others filled with books and maps from travelers all over the world- from quaint to luxurious. Guests who choose to stay here place value on the high-quality linens, unique furniture, and a plethora of knowledge from our innkeepers who know the area’s best restaurants, wineries and attractions.
Our cottages include private entrances, secluded porches, beautiful gas fireplaces, and separate tubs, with sweeping picturesque views of the sheep pasture or the 300 acres of preserved land that surrounds the Woolverton Inn. We would describe the feel of our Inn as classic luxury with a modern touch. Feed the sheep walking around by your window while you’re at it! Driving onto our property, you will find a Tesla charger and super charger along the side of our barn. On-site bike rentals, spa packages, and “Stay Home” dinners are some of the amenities our guests enjoy when personalizing their stay.
Inns are often located in remote but interesting towns with a myriad of attractions for visitors. Woolverton Inn sits high on a hill above the Delaware River. We’re just inutes from the popular tourist destinations of New Hope, PA and Lambertville, NJ. We’re surrounded by bucolic landscapes of Hunterdon County and Bucks County, PA.
Common Questions for First Timers at the Woolverton Inn:
- Can we bring our pet? You are welcome to bring your dog to our Garden cottage.
- What if we need assistance after hours? Our Innkeeper lives on property and the owners live across the street. You’ll receive emergency contact numbers at check in. Never hesitate to ask for help!
- What if we are late? Traffic jams happen, flights are delayed. Innkeepers are well-aware of the possibility of a changing arrival time. We will do everything we can to accommodate a late check-in.
- Are you on social media? Yes! Please tag us in pictures you take around the property! Check out our Facebook and Instagram for weekly updates!
- Are there wineries or breweries around the Inn? Yes! There are a vast number of wineries and breweries around the Inn. Check out the list of our favorite under the “Area Tab” on our website.
- What is there to do on property or in the area? There are a number of activities to keep you busy both on and off-site. Biking, shopping, sightseeing, hiking, exploring and more. Our innkeepers will assist you in creating your perfect itinerary!
