  • Insider's Info

Travelers are always looking for memorable and relaxing experiences. Let’s discover more through the words of our innkeepers. Many thanks to Mike and Stefanie Hogan for sharing their own secrets with BBOnline.com!
Why do most travelers stay at your inn?

We are unique to Cape Cod and offer something the typical Cape Cod Bed and Breakfast cannot replicate. The Platinum Pebble Boutique Inn has a modern interior design described as chic, coastal elegance. Service is the number one priority and each Guest has access to a personal concierge to make their stay truly unforgettable.

What are you best known for? What makes your inn unique? What do you love most about your inn?

We are best known for our first class service and inspiring breakfasts. The Guest is always the most important part of what we do, daily. The inn itself is unique in terms of design and amenities for Cape Cod. This style, boutique inn, cannot be found elsewhere on Cape Cod.

If someone has never been to your city, what is the #1 reason to come visit?

Harwich is perfectly situated to take advantage of the beauty of Cape Cod. There is an endless list of great things to do and being centrally located affords our guests the opportunity to spend less time driving and more time enjoying!

What’s the best compliment you have ever received about the inn?

Actually, the best compliment we received was for Stefanie’s cooking. A Parisian gentleman was enthralled with her pastries and said, “she has a gift”. We thought that was a remarkable statement coming from the source of great pastries.

What’s the best kept secret about the area?

The best kept secret is a small piece of heaven at Cliff Pond in Nickerson State Park. You can always find a secret spot of your own with sandy beaches, crystal clear fresh water, and shady pine trees…even in the height of the season.

If a traveler is staying at your inn for 4 nights, what should he/she do in the area?

That is a great question and one we enjoy answering daily for our Guests. One of the most exciting parts of our recent move to Cape Cod and purchase of the Platinum Pebble Boutique Inn has been the opportunity to live here like a tourist and really explore the Cape. Our favorite things to do over 4 days (always Guest dependent though):

    • Guiding the Guest to great food everywhere they go
    • Daytrip to Provincetown and the Outer Cape o Hike the Dunes of Provincetown and discover the dune shacks o Big views from the Pilgrim Monument o Wander Commerical Street (Provincetown’s Main Street)
    • Wander Main Streets – Chatham, Falmouth
    • Lighthouse tour
    • Guided kayak tour of the back waterways of Cape Cod
    • Daytrip to Nantucket and enjoy things at a much slower pace
Is there anything within walking distance of your inn?

We are fortunate to have several great restaurants within walking distance of the inn. The Oyster Company is our first choice for casual seafood, Viera and Ocean House offer excellent fine dining menus, The Red Nun is a casual eatery with live music and the best burgers on the Cape, and we have a Japanese Hibachi restaurant within 200 yards of the inn. We also have downtown Dennisport three short blocks over from the inn. There, Guests can find ice cream, pizza, a bakery, galleries, convenience items, a bar, and a general store. Just south of the inn are the sandy beaches of the Nantucket Sound and just north of the inn is the Cape Cod Rail Trail (an amazing bike path). We are in close proximity to everything important for a great vacation.

What is your favorite restaurant/food in the area?

Three of our favorite foodie spots on the Cape are:

    • Pizzeria Barbone in Hyannis
    • Rock Harbor Grill in Orleans
    • The Canteen in Provincetown
Any good area guides/websites that travelers could reference?

We publish an article each week in the blog section of our website that covers most of what a traveler would be interested in doing or seeing coming to the area for the first time. Some long time Cape visitors have even been surprised at some of the information included! We experience everything so we can give an accurate description to our Guests and fellow travelers.

How many rooms does your inn have?

We have eight rooms, four different categories. There is a room to suit everyone’s preferences, from the value driven Queen and Deluxe rooms to the luxurious Superior and Luxury Superior rooms.

    Do you accept pets?

We love pets but are not able to accommodate them at the inn. We are able to recommend some great pet sitting services in the area.

“Best B&B and Boutique by far" 5 of 5 Stars

Reviewed 3 weeks ago via mobile on Trip Advisor:

I cannot say enough good things about this beautiful inn. This was mine & my fiancés first time in Cape Cod, and we didn't even want to leave our room because of how much we loved it. The bed was extremely comfortable, breakfast was delicious, bathroom gorgeous, the decor so modern & fitting and the fireplace just added the perfect touch to such an already warm & cozy room. The Hogans were friendly, very helpful and truly made us feel right at home. We are so excited to go back. We have already tried to book a week next month but see they're full. As stated in the title, this was by far the best boutique we have ever been to & cannot wait to visit again.

    “Ever visited an Oyster Farm??”

5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 6, 2015 on Trip Advisor:

This is the second time this year we have stayed at the Platinum Pebble and each time as we are leaving headed back to Texas we start our planning to see when we can return as quickly as possible! This is not the standard New England Bed and Breakfast you may be accustomed to in previous experiences. This is a first class facility with large open rooms, new bath rooms with lots of hot water, super beds and fireplaces, a lovely swimming pool, a spacious central lounge area, breakfast served in your room that looks and tastes like it came from a French cafe, and a set of inn keepers that will delight you with their personalities and their wiliness to do anything from recommending a super restaurant to arranging a visit to a local oyster farm to providing bicycles for you to use all day on the many trails located on Cape Cod. Just a super all around experience that I hope you get to enjoy.

“Celebratory 5 Star Getaway on the Cape”

5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 30, 2015 on Trip Advisor:

My husband and I just returned from the Platinum Pebble to celebrate our 50th birthdays and had an incredible stay! The Inn was top notch in all areas from the staff, food, accommodations and grounds. The hosts, Stefanie and Mike, made us feel welcomed and special. Their enthusiasm and commitment to providing high quality service to their guests shines through in all they do. What a wonderful thing to experience when traveling! All of our food restrictions and concerns were addressed and the breakfasts served were delicious and beautifully prepared! Thank you for a wonderful stay and the great memories! We hope to return in the future to this hidden gem on the Cape!
