    Why do most travelers stay at your inn?

    Resort setting for relaxation on the water. Location, gardens and walking distance to fine restaurants, gift shops and water activities.

    What are you best known for?

    Service, staff and our signature breakfast; Eggs Benny.

    What makes your inn unique?

    Privacy, owner is an Artist (gardens, food presentation and accommodations reflect this artistic flare) and the blend of history and modern appointments in the 1880 home.

    What do you love most about your inn?

    The ability to share my home on the water, among gardens, sunrises and sunsets located in a well-appointed waterside community.

    If someone has never been to your city, what is the #1 reason to come visit?

    We are not a city. We are a quiet escape, a Sanctuary with sounds of song birds to awake too, but not that far from metro areas.

    What’s the best compliment you have ever received about the inn?

    A bit of heaven and how well kept the whole inn and gardens are kept.

    What’s the best kept secret about the area?

    So much to do and see on the western shore of the Chesapeake. Many local Festivals: Celtic, Seafood, County, River, Art and concerts. WDC, Ist and current state capitol of Maryland, Wakefield Planation and Stafford Hall, Fossil Hunting, Historic tours, Cultural Arts, Archeological digging, State Parks, Bike tours, Religious Heritage Tour, Wine Tours, Amish country, antiquing, charter fishing, sunset and night sailing, kayaking the creeks.

    Is there anything within walking distance of your inn?

    Everything!!! Day Spas, Dining, Antiques, gift shops, river walk / cone island ice cream shop, maritime museum, hour boat rides on historic skipjack boat, picked up at the Inn’s dock for fishing or sailing cruise.

    How many rooms does your inn have?

    Main house 4 bedrooms all with private baths and views of water or gardens. 2 Suites with private entrances, king beds, porches, water view or gas fireplace. 1 cottage, screened porch, waterview, gas fireplace, massage tub. All rooms have Wifi, cable Television, independent A/C, full breakfasts with seasonal fresh fruit and greens. Homemade cookies and Inn’s blend of coffee or iced tea.

    Full Gourmet Breakfast

    Served every morning between 8:30-9:30 Monday through Saturday. This includes Back Creek Inn's delectable "Eggs Benny", one-of-a-kind Omelets topped with homemade salsa, fluffy French toast or waffles, and sausage. Sunday brunch from 9:00-9:30 a.m. offers Back Creek Inn's signature crab quiche (as seen on Maryland Public TV), baked French toast, or hardy spinach and ham casserole, along with seasonal fresh fruit.

    Provided every morning for those on the go. This includes Back Creek Inn special blend coffee, tea, juices, cereal, bagels, English muffins, homemade breakfast bread and fresh fruit; or at 7:00-8:30 A.M., a hot breakfast of bacon and eggs can be prepared for you. Please inform the innkeepers of your desire for a Business Continental Breakfast and it will be waiting for you when you need it.

    "Before Breakfast" Breakfast: Awaits guests every morning starting at 8:00. This includes Back Creek Inn special blend coffee, tea, juices and homemade coffeecake and can be found on the sideboard in the lounge area or "Commons."

    To accommodate any dietary needs you may have (i.e., no dairy, vegetarian, etc.), please inform your innkeepers 24 hours before your arrival.

    The Back Creek Inn offers two deep water (8 foot ) boat slips on our 70-foot pier. You'll find us at Mile Marker 5 in Back Creek.

    Complimentary WiFi Internet access available in every room. You can even settle in our Adirondack chairs on the lawn, kick up your feet, sip iced tea, listen to the lap of the gentle waves along the shore, and type away on your laptop or handheld.

    We also have two bicycles for your convenience.

    Ask about access to a pool at a local marina just two blocks away.

    Meeting Space

    We accommodate corporate groups, offering indoor meeting space as well as a waterfront lawn that cultivates creativity and open communication (Maximum 20). A lunch buffet can be provided from the Inn’s kitchen. Your team will thrive and rejuvenate in the Inn’s retreat/resort atmosphere.

    Garden Teas are offered every third Thursday of the month from 2-4 p.m. A reservation is required 3 days prior to the event.

    Picnic/box lunches are available. A reservation is required 3 days in advance. Menu options may be emailed upon request.

The Back Creek Inn offers up to 7 rooms for lodging and can accommodate up to 20 day visitors for corporate events. An evening stroll to one of the island restaurants will top off your successful and productive day.

    From Washington DC - Metro Area

    1. From 495, take Exit 11a (Pennsylvania Avenue/Route 4 south)
    2. Stay on Route 4 south for approximately 50 miles (it will merge with Route 2)
    3. Exit right onto Solomons Island Road/Calvert Marine Museum exit, just before Governor Johnson Bridge
    4. Turn left at the stop sign
    5. Make a right/merge onto Old Solomons Island Road, continue four blocks to Alexander Lane. Turn left and go straight back two blocks into our driveway

    From Baltimore

    1. Take Interstate 695 to Interstate 97 South to Route 301 South
    2. Exit at Route 4 South, stay on Route 4 south for approximately 50 miles (it will merge with Route 2)
    3. Exit right onto Solomons Island Road/Calvert Marine Museum exit, just before Governor Johnson Bridge
    4. Turn left at the stop sign
    5. Make a right/merge onto Old Solomons Island Road, continue four blocks to Alexander Lane. Turn left and go straight back two blocks into our driveway

    From Virginia

    1. Take Exit 104 to Route 207 East/US 301 toward Baltimore
    2. Continue straight on US 301 North
    3. Turn Right onto Route 234 to Leonardtown Route 234 merges with Route 5 (Point Lookout Rd)
    4. Continue straight. Just passed town of Leonardtown
    5. Take a left onto Route 4/St. Andrews Church Rd
    6. Cross light at Route 235/Three Notch Rd
    7. Once across the Governor Johnson Bridge, bear right, turn right at the stop sign and continue four blocks to Alexander Lane. Turn left and go straight back two blocks into our driveway

    If You’re Sailing From the Chesapeake Bay

    We are approximately a 2-hour sail from ports on the Eastern Shore and about a 4-hour sail from ports in and around Annapolis. You'll find us at Mile Marker 5 in Back Creek. Enjoy your sail!
