Candlebay Inn Bed and Breakfast, located on a lovely lot along a quiet dead-end street, is within easy walking distance to many fine shops and restaurants.
This historic 1848 home has been upgraded with modern amenities while keeping its New England charm. A charter member of Historic Bed and Breakfasts of Greater Freeport.
We offer six guest rooms and a two-room suite. All guest rooms have private baths, air-conditioning and are non-smoking. Relax in a cozy sitting room with Direct TV, books or games. Join in a lively breakfast conversation with other guests while breakfast is being served. (Breakfast available between 8:00 and 9:30; you will find fresh brewed coffee after 6:00am for those who are early risers!)
Experience the beautiful seacoast and picturesque countryside of Maine. Return and relax in our spacious, private yard. You are welcome to bring your own drinks. There is a small fire pit to enjoy if you like, on the patio.
While we are a dog friendly B&B, please remember that not all people enjoy dogs. Please keep your dog on a leash. And unfortunately, you furry friend cannot join you for breakfast unless you happen to be our only guest. :)
We do own dogs, but they do not roam the B&B. You may never see them during your visit unless we are in the yard with them or taking them for a walk. You may ask to meet them if you like. :)

We are a small quaint, casual B&B and love making our guests feel at home.
What are you best known for? What makes your inn unique? What do you love most about your inn? We are pet friendly and our breakfasts are wonderful. We love making our guests feel comfortable and comfortable!
If someone has never been to your city, what is the #1 reason to come visit? Freeport is a wonderful, friendly town, fun to walk through and do shopping or grab a bite to eat. Or do all three! We are close to a couple of beautiful state parks too, if shopping is not your thing.
What’s the best compliment you have ever received about the inn? Just like being at home without the work.
What’s the best kept secret about the area? That the area is a central location to visit many of Maine attractions such as LL Beans Walk-on Adventures and bird watching
If a traveler is staying at your inn for 4 nights, what should he/she do in the area? There are so many things to do by making us your home base! Within a 30 minute drive, most listed below are less than that or within walking distance, there is:

How many rooms does your inn have? We have 7 rooms; 6 and 7 rooms can be made into a 2 bedroom suite.
Do you accept pets? We accept well-mannered dogs.

Wake up to a fresh hot homemade breakfast of anything from hashbrown casseroles to pancakes and waffles! Orange juice is served with breakfast and brewed coffee is available as early as 6:00am. Breakfast is served between 8 & 9:30am.
We are happy to accommodate dietary restrictions or requests with advance notice. Just let us know when you book!

Candlebay Inn welcomes well behaved dogs! There is a $20 pet fee per stay and a portion is donated to a local rescue. We allow up to two dogs per room and the fee covers both dogs. If you have three, please give us a call. Owners are responsible for any damages. If you would like to spend the day sailing or swimming, we have a wonderful Doggie Day Care in town. Pleasant Hill Kennels is located in Freeport and would be happy to entertain your friend while you are out enjoying your day. Please give them 24 hour notice or contact them when booking. While we do not mind dogs being left in rooms,, please keep in mind that if your dog is a barker when you are not with him/her, other guests may be distrubed. Please feel free to give us a call with any questions. :)
To The Dogs: You must be well-behaved! No picking fights with guests or other dogs. And no excessive barking in rooms!
