    This romantic Bed and Breakfast is perfectly located just a short stroll from Bar Harbor's Main Street and only a mile from magnificent Acadia National Park. Built in 1878, the historic Primrose Inn is decorated in a light Victorian style that encourages guests to relax and enjoy their time away. Guests will enjoy the comfortable elegance of spacious rooms, each with a private bathroom, high ceilings, and carefully appointed with selected antiques and period reproductions. Many rooms feature gas fireplaces, spa tubs, adjoining reading and sitting rooms as well as private balconies and porches.

    The Primrose Inn has been enhanced with today's most requested guest amenities such as luxurious linen and towels, flat-panel televisions with built-in DVD players in each room, central air conditioning, wireless internet access throughout the inn, guest refreshments at no additional cost, and a daily newspaper delivered to room room.

    We have 15 guest rooms that all have their own free parking spot in downtown Bar Harbor. What do you love most about your inn? The location and quality of the Inn.

    If someone has never been to your city, what is the #1 reason to come visit?

    Acadia National Park

    What’s the best compliment you have ever received about the inn?

    “You have thought of everything.”

    What’s the best kept secret about the area?

    We live on an island there are too many secrets.

    Acadia National Park.

    Is there anything within walking distance of your inn?

    EVERYTHING restaurants, shops, galleries, water, Acadia national Park.

    What is your favorite restaurant/food in the area?

    Thirsty Whale for Lobster Rolls, Links Pub at Kebo Valley Golf Course for lunch, Café This Way for Lobster Stew and Mache for “finer dining”

    Hearty Full Breakfast - Served from 8 to 9:30 a.m.

    One of the highlights of our day is serving a hearty full breakfast in our dining room or on our outdoor wrap-around front porch. Each morning Primrose Inn guests are offered a "Savory" and a "Sweet" entree to choose from.

    Afternoon Tea - Served from 4 to 6 p.m.

    Our "Afternoon Tea," featuring an assortment of freshly baked treats from the Primrose Inn's kitchen, is very popular with our guests and many plan their day around returning to the inn to relax and enjoy it before dinner.
