Travelers are always looking for memorable and relaxing experiences. Let’s discover more through the words of our innkeepers. Many thanks to Lyn Guidry for sharing her own secrets with BBOnline.com! Why do most travelers stay at your inn? Most travelers that stay with us are here for relaxation, reconnection, privacy, and my breakfast!
What are you best known for? What makes your inn unique? What do you love most about your inn? Probably what makes us unique is our guests have authentic Cajun cottages that are private in a tranquil country setting. We also deliver a full breakfast to the door each morning to enjoy in the privacy of their suite at no additional fee for this service. All cottages have full kitchens.
If someone has never been to your city, what is the #1 reason to come visit? Rayne is a small community known for being the Frog Capitol of the World, and the City of Murals. Although, Lafayette is a short 15 minute drive from us and most people come for Lafayette, having never heard of Rayne. It's also a nice stopping point for people traveling to New Orleans, Florida or Texas to stop and rest before continuing their journey.
What’s the best compliment you have ever received about the inn? One of the things we hear most frequently, "It reminds me of visiting Grandma's." We consider this a very high compliment as it has warm fuzzy feelings usually associated with it. They love the country setting, and always hear " Our attention to detail if wonderful, that we have thought everything the guests may need."
What’s the best kept secret about the area? I would think it would be Hawk's Restaurant. It is only opened seasonally for serving the BEST boiled crawfish!
If a traveler is staying at your inn for 4 nights, what should he/she do in the area? These are our favorites: Cajun Country Swamp Tours, Liberty Theatre, come for one of our many festivals such as: Festival Acadiens et Creoles, Crawfish Festival, Germanfest, Festival International de Louisiane, Mardi Gras in Cajun Country, Rice Festival, Frog Festival and around Christmas there is A Cajun & Creole Christmas at Acadian Village. All are wonderful! Acadian Village or Vermillionville
Is there anything within walking distance of your inn? Fishing! Many guests enjoy the opportunity of catching fish on property.
What is your favorite restaurant/food in the area? It is really hard as we have so many really good restaurants near us. Our personal favorites: Chef Roy's Restaurant, Fezzo's Restaurant, and Hawks Restaurant (when it is open.)
Any good area guides/websites that travelers could reference? Good websites travelers could reference http://www.lafayette.travel, www.downtownlafayette.org, www.acadiatourism.org
How many rooms does your inn have? We have 4 private cottages at our Louisiana bed and breakfast.
Do you accept pets? Unforunately, we cannot accept pets, but we recommend guests board their companions at Camp BowWow in Lafayette.
