Due to covid-19 we are now having in your room a basket breakfast which consists of muffins, cereals or oatmeal, granola bars, fresh fruit, juice, yogurt...etc. you can dine in room or dine on one of our many porches overlooking the water.
Each room is beautifully decorated with antiques from the Victorian period. All rooms come complete with a sitting area, cable television and a private bath. Relax and unwind while you soak in a wonderful old-fashioned claw foot bathtub.
Make the most of your stay by taking part in the activities the lake area has to offer. Fishing, golfing, boating or just relaxing by the in-ground pool are just a few of your choices. You can do as much, or as little as you please.

Travelers stay to celebrate anniversaries, birthdays, honeymoons and for romantic getaways.
What are you best known for? What makes your inn unique? What do you love most about your inn?
We are best known for our beautiful view from our porches overlooking the lake.
We are a historic home with large rooms with king size beds, inground pool, boat dock and waterfront view of Lake Barkely.
We love the history of the plantation home and the large rooms with high ceilings.
If someone has never been to your city, what is the #1 reason to come visit?
The #1 reason to visit is to enjoy all the lake area has to offer: antiquing, nature hikes, fishing, boating, canoeing and kayaking.
What’s the best compliment you have ever received about the inn?
"Your home is like those plantation homes you tour except you get to sleep in this one. It is like a museum"
What’s the best kept secret about the area?
The best kept secret is how pretty the Lakes are here in Western, KY.
If a traveler is staying at your inn for 4 nights, what should he/she do in the area?
As much or as little as they want, we have hiking, biking, canoeing, horseback riding, nature center, planetarium, elk and bison prairie, golden pond, marinas, fishing, boating and of course my fav, antiquing -- or you can choose one of our many places to sit and watch the boats roll by and just escape the hustle and bustle of a hurried life.
Is there anything within walking distance of your inn?
There is a boat dock and a swimming pool within walking distance.
What is your favorite restaurant/food in the area?
From the filet mignon to vegetarian dishes Patti's 1880's is hands down one of the best restaurants in the area. The Oasis southwest grill is also a favorite of the area with a Tex-Mex flair.

Do you accept pets?
No we do not accept pets. There are a few places to board animals and contacting one of the local vets will get you a good recommendation.

- Princeton Exit 45 off I-24 onto Highway 293 South
- Go to the stop sign at Highway 93 North and make a right towards Eddyville
- Go approximately 1/2 mile and make a left on Highway 730 towards Historic Kentucky State Penitentiary, also known as "The Castle"
- Travel down Hwy. 730 for approximately 2.2 miles
- Take a left onto Lakeshore Drive right before reaching "The Castle"
- Continue to the end of Lakeshore Drive until you reach picturesque Maple Hill Bed and Breakfast
