  • Insider's Info

Travelers are always looking for memorable and relaxing experiences. Let’s discover more through the words of our innkeepers. Many thanks to Joanne Landon for sharing her own secrets with BBOnline.com!
Why do most travelers stay at your inn?

Most guests stay while visiting family, traveling on vacation, attending festivals in Golden Gate Park or sometimes just a quiet get away.

What are you best known for? What makes your inn unique? What do you love most about your inn?

I enjoy the amazing view of the Pacific Ocean as my guests in the Ocean View Suite enjoy as well. Waking up to the ever-changing ocean is a delight; sunsets are often the perfect ending to a busy day.

If someone has never been to your city, what is the #1 reason to come visit?

Many guests visit the Golden Gate Bridge, Fisherman's Wharf, our Museums, the Pacific Ocean and enjoy the international culinary experiences of the ethnic restaurants in our neighborhood. I always recommend a city tour, www.SFshuttletours.com. They can then return to visit the places that interest them most.

What’s the best compliment you have ever received about the inn?

Ocean Beach Bed and Breakfast is like a home away from home.

What’s the best kept secret about the area?

The newly refurbished walking trails along the ocean and new Visitors Center.

If a traveler is staying at your inn for 4 nights, what should he/she do in the area?

In the outer Richmond District we are three blocks from Golden Gate Park with museums, the Academy of Sciences, the Japanese Tea Garden, Conservatory of Flowers, a model boat lake, windmills (which can be seen from the Ocean View Suite), the Camera Obscura, a complicated arrangement of mirrors which gives panoramic views of the coast and sea, The Palace of the Legion of Honor (an art museum) is also nearby, a great place to get photos of the Golden Gate Bridge.

Is there anything within walking distance of your inn?

Walking trails at the beach, a Visitors Center, Golden Gate Park, many great restaurants including the world famous Cliff House, Camera Obscura, and the Palace of the Legion of Honor. We have free street parking in our neighborhood and are within a block of a main bus line going downtown.

What is your favorite restaurant/food in the area?

Pacific Cafe, a great neighborhood, seafood restaurant that has been in the area for over 30 years, they do not take reservations but do serve free wine while you are waiting and chatting with my neighbors.

Any good area guides/websites that travelers could reference?

How many rooms does your inn have?

We have the Queen Room, a cozy, quiet room with a queen sized bed and private bath (no view) and the Ocean View Suite, a lovely room with an ocean view from bed, an adjoining sitting room and private bath.

    Do you accept pets?

We are unable to accommodate pets.
