Grandma's Apple Torte

This delicious Apple Torte Cake was one of Grandma’s many treats that our family had enjoyed through the years. We always looked foreword to Grandma making this delightful morsel for special family gathering and holidays. Many of our guests ask for the recipe and I am always happy to share it with everyone.



  • 3 eggs
  • 1 3/4 cups sugar
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 cup oil
  • 4 apples (tart or a variety)
  • 1/2 cup nuts (optional)


Mix Eggs and sugar
Add dry ingredients & vanilla
Add oil
Fold into batter 4 apples sliced thin ( Grandma used tart and I use a variety )
Add nuts if desired
Grease and flour a 9 x 13 baking pan
Bake on 350 for about one hour


Tips and Variations:

 You can feel comfortable adding any fruit or different nuts to change this tasty treat.
