Choyce's Sour Cream Cut Out Cookie Recipe
From QUIGLEY'S LOG HOME B&BDirections
Mix: 1 cup ORIGINAL WHITE CRISCO SHORTENING, 1 cup sour cream, 2 eggs and 1 tsp. vanilla
Add: 1-1/2 cups sugar, 1 ROUNDED tsp. baking soda and 4 LEVEL cups of flour.
I put down wax paper and sprinkle flour on top. Then I take a large handful of dough and work it together with my hands...then roll out to a good 1/4" thickness. This is thicker than most recipes call for. Spray cookie sheets with Pam and bake at 350 degrees for 11-12 minutes. Don't overbake.
FROSTING: 3-1/4 cups powdered sugar, 3 tbsp. ORIGINAL WHITE CRISCO SHORTENING, 4 tbsp. milk and 1 tsp. vanilla. This is the BEST frosting ever!!! When in a hurry, I buy prepared cake frosting, but tis is worth the effort! The recipe makes 34-39 cookies per batch, depending on size of cutter used.
