Asparagus Cheese Quiche


Cooking Time:

50 minutes








  • 1 1/2 pounds fresh asparagus, cut in pieces
  • 3 T. butter
  • 1 loaf sliced bread (I used French Bread)
  • 3/4 cup shredded cheddar cheese divided
  • 2 cups fully cooked ham cubed
  • 6 eggs
  • 3 cups milk
  • 2 t. dried onions
  • 1/2 t. salt
  • 1/4 t. dry mustard



In a saucepan, cover asparagus with water, cover and cook until tender but still firm. Drain and set aside. Lightly brush butter over one side of bread slices. Place half of bread in a

greased 13 by 9 inch pan. Sprinkle with half of cheese Layer with asparagus and ham. Cover with remaining bread, buttered

side up. In a bowl beat eggs, milk, onion, salt and mustard.

Pour over bread and refrigerate overnight. Bake (covered)

at 350 for 50 min.  Sprinkle with remaining cheese. Return

to oven for 10 min. until cheese is melted.
