Mama Esther's Baked Custard


My grandmother was Swedish and a good cook. I serve her baked custard with fresh fruit, juice, pigs in the blanket (Dutch), muffins and coffee or tea. But, it is best served in the formal dining room of Bonnie's Parsonage 1908. We are AAA approved to ensure our quality and cleanliness. This B&B is historic and is situated in a safe, lovely residential neighborhood.

3 eggs, beaten
1/2 cup sugar or to taste
3 cups milk

Mix all ingredients until sugar has dissolved. Pour into 6 ramekin (small) dishes 3". Set dishes of custard in a large paper dish filled 1/2 with water to ensure custard bakes evenly, @ 300 degrees. Custard is done when sharp knife is inserted in center and comes out clean. Cool. Cover with plastic wrap and cool in refrigerator. Serve with above. Bake approximately 1 1/4 hours.
