Dutch Babies (Dutch Pancakes)

Baked pancake with many topping choices.

Dutch Baby Pancakes


  • 1/4 cup all purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 T butter


Pre-heat oven to 425 degrees. Mix all ingredients well, preferably with a mixer. Put one T. of butter in a 6-inch ovenproof dish. Heat in oven until butter is melted. Pour the mixture in the preheated dish and bake for 10-12 min. until the pancake is golden brown on the edges and very puffy. Once you take it out of the oven, it will sink in and curl on the edges. There are plenty of toppings you can use: fresh berries, sliced bananas, scrambled eggs or sauteed apples.
