No artifical mixes or added sugar. Just fruit, juice and yogurt. Our smoothies are a hit with children at the ranch. They look so cute served in a small parfait glass with a bit of whipped cream on top. Guests ofthen think that we spent alot of time with a lofty list of ingredients to prepare these. Most are surprised to find out how simple these are to make and how tasty they are!

It's not easy for us to keep fruit fresh on-hand in SOuth Dakota in the off season. So I always keep frozen strawberries and blueberries on hand so in the event we have last-minute winter visitors, we can still serve yummy fruit at breakfast.

You may use fresh strawberry or blueberries but suggest you freeze fruit before making smoothies to get that cold, thick consistency that smoothies are known for.

If I have bananas getting too ripe to eat fresh, I peel and freeze them and always have them on hand for smoothies.

Ingredients

  • 1-2 ripe Banannas
  • 2 cups Frozen Strawberries
  • 1 cup Frozen Blueberries
  • 1/2 cup Yoplait, French Vanilla Yogurt
  • 1-2 cups Orange Juice
  • Whipped Cream for Garnish

Directions

Put all above ingredients in blender and blend well till smooth. If mixture is too thick and not blending, add more OJ till desired thickness is achieved.  Serve in parfait glasses with whipped cream and a straw.
