Preheat oven to 350F.
In medium bowl, sift together flour, baking soda and salt.
In a large bowl with electric mixer on medium speed, cream together butter and two sugars until fluffy. On low speed, add egg and vanilla. Slowly add flour mixture until just blended. Stir in nuts and chocolate.
Line the baking sheets with parchment paper or silpat.
Drop tablespoonfuls on cookie sheets 2 inches apart. Bake in batches in preheated oven until lightly golden at edges, 8 to 10 minutes. Cool completely. Eat 'em up!
