Boil 5 minutes and let cool:
2 cups raisins
1 cup water
Cream
1 cup shortening
3 eggs
2 cups sugar
1 tsp vanilla
Add raisins and water
Sift
4 cups all purpose flour
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp baking soda
2 tsp salt
1 1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp nutmeg
1/4 tsp allspice
Add to raisin mixture, then add 1 cup chopped nuts. Mix, then drop by spoonfuls onto a greased pan. Bake at 375 degrees for 12 to 15 minutes. Makes 5 dozen.
