Preheat the oven to 400 degrees. Cut butter into all the dry ingredients until the mixture resemble fine crumbs. Stir in the slightly beaten egg. Stir in the half and half. Stir in the dried berries. Turn the mixture out onto a floured surface and knead approx 10 times. Do not over knead. Form the dough into a 1/2 inch thick circle. Cut like a pie in either 6 or 8 slices. Place on a lightly greased cookie sheet. Brush with the beaten egg and water mixture. Bake for 10 minutes or until golden. Do not over bake and the scones will be moist and fluffy.
