National Hotel Famous Hot Buttered Rum Recipe
From 1859 HISTORIC NATIONAL HOTEL, A COUNTRY INNIngredients
- 1 pound whole butter (softened)
- 12 oz dark brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon molasses
- 1/8 teaspoon allspice
- rum of choice
- cinnamon stick
Directions
To make butter mixture:
1 pound whole butter (softened)
12 oz dark brown sugar
1 tablespoon molasses
1/8 teaspoon allspice
Mix well and refrigerate - Will last all winter.
To make a hot buttered rum drink:
In glass mug, mix 6oz very hot water, 1 mounded tablespoon of mixture, 1 1/4 oz rum of choice. Stir with cinnimon stick and enjoy!
