Dutch Pan Babies

Dutch Pan Babies is one of our delicious breakfasts, prepared in our century-old cast iron pans. The recipe is from a dutch friend and serves 4.
Pre heat oven to 400 and then pre heat 2 heavy [8"] skillets for 5 minutes. As quickly as possible, melt and swirl butter to coat bottom and sides of pans, divide batter between 2 pans, and return to oven for 15-20 minutes. You can adjust the time to your liking with future bakings, but you can't remove to check during a baking because it comes out puffed high and soon falls. Cut into wedges & serve with powdered sugar. We serve homemade preserves on top and love them as much as our guests! |
