Kartofel Fett-Kuchele (Potato doughnuts)

1 cup flour
1 cup mashed potatoes
2/3 cup sugar
1 egg
2 teaspoons baking powder

Mix flour, mashed potatoes, sugar, egg, and baking powder and roll out to one-third inch thick. Cut in strips three inches long, fry in hot shortening. Serve hot.
