Serves 2

French Toast:
4 slices French pre-sliced bread
Butter (enough to cover griddle or bottom of pan)
1 cup milk (you can also use cream or buttermilk
1 extra large egg
1 teaspoon pure vanilla
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Powdered sugar

Cinnamon Butter:
1 lb tub margarine
1/2 cup sugar or powdered sugar
2 tablespoons ground cinnamon or to taste
Combine the three ingredients and mix thoroughly with a spoon.
This will keep well in fridge.

Syrup:
3/4 cup Aunt Jemima's syrup
1 tsp Savannah Cinnamon (sold at Hallmark stores and fine gift shops) or any other liquid cinnamon syrup
Heat through till very hot in microwave.

Beat milk, egg, vanilla and cinnamon with whisk. Heat butter at medium heat till it bubbles. Dip bread in batter and place on hot butter. Cook till browned on both sides, turning every minute.

Spread a generous amount of cinnamon butter on toasted bread. Pour syrup over both slices. Top with fresh fruit garnish and then powdered sugar.

Optional Topping: 1 can apple pie filling, 2 teaspoons cinnamon, 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg and 1 tablespoon sugar. Combine and cook through on stove. This can be frozen and is good on biscuits, toast or muffins.

Serve with bacon and sausage.

Note: The cinnamon butter is great spread on split, leftover biscuits. Place under over broiler till butter begins to bubble.
