Buttermilk Scones from The Blue Goose Inn

From THE BLUE GOOSE INN

Ingredients

  • 4 cups Flour
  • 1 tbsp Baking Powder
  • 1 tsp Baking Soda
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 2/3 cup Sugar
  • 2 1/2 sticks (20 tbsp) Cold Butter
  • 2 Large Eggs
  • 1 cup Buttermilk
  • 1 tbsp Vanilla

Directions

Preheat oven at 400 degrees

 

Mix the dry ingerdients, then cut in the butter until there are no chunks and the mixture looks dry and crumbly. ( I use a food processor for about 15 seconds).

 

Stir in the eggs, milk and vanilla. Stopping as soon as no flour is visible. (Do not over work).

 

Measure out onto a baking sheet covered in parchment in even scoops.

 

Bake until golden brown.

 

Optional: Add 1 cup of dried currents or any dried fruit that sounds good!
