Blacksmith Inn Cinnamon Breakfast Apples

1/4 c. butter 2 T. water 10 large cooking apples (Macintosh work well) 1 c. sugar 1 t. cinnamon 1/4 t. nutmeg Core, peel and chop apples into bit size pieces. Melt butter in large saucepan, add water and apples to pan. Sprinkle sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg over apples and cook over low to medium heat, stirring once or twice, for 15 to 20 minutes until apples are tender but still firm. Yield: 5 cups
