Chocolate Chip Cookies

3 cups sifted flour
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
1 cup softened butter
1 cup sugar
1 cup brown sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 Tbs milk
2 eggs
2 cups (12-oz pkg) chocolate chips
1 cup chopped nuts

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. In a food mixer cream butter and sugars. Add eggs and beat until light and fluffy. Add vanilla and milk. Mix together flour, salt, baking powder and baking soda and add to butter mixture, mixing until blended. Add chips and nuts and stir to combine. Drop onto greased cookies sheets. (A small ice cream scoop makes nice sizes.) Bake 10-12 minutes. Allow to sit on the sheet for a minute before removing to a rack to cool.

Makes about 4 dozen
