Southern Illinois Wine Trail In Autumn
Today guests had great fun on the Southern Illinois Wine Trail visiting Cache River Basin, Hogg Hollow, Bella Terra, and Shawnee Winery. Wines noted by The Irish Inn guests were the new peach from Shawnee, strawberry from Hogg Hollow, a chocolate wine imported from Holland at Cache River, and Platino (always seems to be a favorite) from Bella Terra. One couple had an oustanding dinner at Wineaux Restaurant, which is the brainchild of Jack Dunker, founder and vitner of Cache River Basin Vineyard & Winery. This photo by Trent Shumway is of a young guest enjoying a wine-tasting at Bella Terra Winery.
