No, one does not need a horse to enjoy the magnificent Withlacoochee State Forest and Withlacoochee River. Come and get away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Hike the Florida Trail which is literally in our front yard.  The forest provides the opportunity for quiet hikes among massive pines and grandfather oaks. One may also catch a glimpse of shy deer, armadillo, fox squirrel, hawks or a bald eagle.

Ride our complementary bicycles on Rails to Trails; a 46 mile paved hiking and bicycle path located just three miles away. Go for a paddle or fish on the Withlacoochee River in our complementary canoe. We even transport the canoe to and from the river for our guests.

The nearby Chinsegut National Wildlife Refuge provides educational activities as well as a place to enjoy natural Florida surroundings. In nearby Bushnell one may also visit the Dade Battlefield, the historic site of a Seminole War battle.

Evenings may be spent rocking on the screened porch or sitting by the campfire chatting with guests and enjoy the quiet of the country under a star lit sky.
