3 Family Warm Springs Restaurants

Warm Springs restaurants are very much family oriented and generally have a great, relaxing, country atmosphere. Oftentimes, the restaurants in this town offer homestyle favorites as well as more international flavors, which makes for an excellent variety of dishes to choose from. Here are a few BBOnline-recommended Warm Springs restaurants to check out on your next trip.

1. The Water Wheel Restaurant and Simon Kenton Pub
128 Old Mill Road
Warm Springs, Virginia 24484
(540) 839-2231

The Water Wheel Restaurant is part of the Inn at Gristmill Square. The entire complex is made up of historic buildings and looks like a mountain village from the 19th century, which makes it a truly beautiful place to dine. The restaurant is set in the grist mill building and serves foods like fresh local trout, which is the house specialty, salmon, ribeye steaks, duck and Italian dishes. To accompany your dinner, you can choose to select a wine from their own wine cellar. Many people go to the Water Wheel for the Sunday brunch, which is available from 11 AM to 2 PM every Sunday. The brunch specialties are stuffed French toast, tomatoes florentine, and eggs any way you like them. Overall, it is a beautiful place to take your family, the only downside is the price. Dinner can cost around $25 USD per person, but it is still a nice splurge if you are only planning on going once.

2. John's Steakhouse
Charger Lane
Warm Springs, Virginia 24484

This is another splurge, but it is still a wonderful family restaurant with a lot of charm and delicious food. You will be impressed by the stunning view of the Appalachians that you can enjoy while dining. There is a nice selection of appetizers to choose from as well, like French onion soup, garlic shrimp, and fried shoestring onions. If you or anyone in your family is on a diet, there is also a light menu.
