One of the main stages for the Floyd music scene is the Floyd Country Store. This has been a local gathering place for over a hundred years. The store has a full menu of food including breakfast items, barbeque, chili, and more. They are open Tuesday through Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Friday until 11:00 p.m., and Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. They also serve milkshakes, sundaes, and homemade baked items. The stage opens every Friday evening with local talent performing. Old fashioned dances and concerts are sometimes held on Saturday nights. The Friday night jamboree features gospel music the first hour, followed by two scheduled bands. There are no reserved tickets, and the store is often filled with people enjoying the music and dancing. You can reserve tickets for special events that are held throughout the year. The store is just around the corner from a Floyd bed and breakfast.

The Sun Music Hall is at the heart of the Floyd music scene. The hall has featured many performances since 2000. Sun Music has a removable wall that allows the building to hold small and large events. Many famous performers have walked across the stage throughout the years. You can see a variety of performances at Sun Music Hall including music, drama, comedy, and more. They offer classes and workshops during the day, as well as weekly events such as dinner and a movie and a kid's matinee. Dogtown Roadhouse is housed in the same building and offers pizza baked in a wood-fired oven. The hall opens daily at 11:00 a.m. and closes at 3:00 on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. The Jacksonville Center for the Arts is at the top of the hill in South Floyd. It is an old dairy barn that has been renovated to feature local artists and musicians. The second floor is an art gallery. The center offers week-long and weekend classes throughout the year teaching visitors crafts such as blacksmithing, glasswork, and pottery. There are events and concerts throughout the year on the stage in the Jacksonville center. Enjoy mountain music performed by local musicians. The center is open from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. daily. The building is handicapped accessible, and children are welcome. Consider taking one of the weekend classes or catching a performance while enjoying your stay at a Floyd inn.
