An excellent double chair lift, Morse Highlands gives skiers access to five perfect skiing trails. If you're a beginner or an advanced beginner, you will benefit from adding Morse Mountain to your Fairfax travel itinerary and heading to the Morse Highlands Lift. The lift has a separate base lodge, so after you've finished skiing you can go there to relax, have a snack and drink a warm cup of tea. The lodge is open daily from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and is equipped with restrooms, phones and offering first aid to skiers in need.

The Sterling Summit Lift is the one that will lead you to all the fantastic intermediate tracks of the Sterling Mountain. Lower intermediates should try the Upper Rumrunner, Lower Rumrunner, Black Snake or Treasure Run tracks. Advanced intermediates will enjoy riding on the Chute, a short but bumpy run, which is less than 20 turns long. The lift's base lodge is open daily from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. and is equipped with an ATM, phone and restrooms. After a tiring day of skiing, you can have a great homemade soup in here, before heading back to your Fairfax inn.

Madonna is the mountain that is a real challenge to skiers. Its tracks are served by the Madonna Summit Lift. The most extreme track is called the Black Hole and it's rated with 3 black diamonds. Add this track to your Fairfax travel itinerary only if you have serious confidence in your skills. Other challenging tracks are the Upper Liftline, the Freefall and Robin's Run. If you're looking for a quick adrenaline rush, the track that you should check out is Doc Dempsey's Glades.
