The atmosphere is certainly less cozy than your Fredericksburg Inn, but the stone walls and wooden tables give the feeling of dining in Germany a hundred years ago. Don't let the harsh appearance fool you or scare you away. The bona fide German food is a true delight and the staff is lively without being too overwhelming. recommends that you bring a coat to keep warm, since the restaurant is essentially a basement. Rathskeller is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Although Rathskeller is closed on Tuesdays, it remains open Wednesday through Monday from 9:00 am until 3:00 pm and then from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm.
