The organization is dedicated to maintaining both the environment and the enjoyment value of the parks and dams along the Colorado River. Fayette Lake is over 2,000 acres and Oak Thicket Park allows access to the North East bay. There are fishing piers situated throughout the park and a complimentary boat ramp for those who would prefer to catch their bass while boating. Many families bring their bikes, as there are dirt and gravel trails available for bikers young and old. Walking and hiking trails are open to the public. Texas weather allows for swimming from spring through mid-fall, and Oak Thicket Park has swimming areas as well.
